Trip to the Farmers Market

It seems like no matter where I go now I take my camera. With all of my new equipment that I "must have" it can be quite cumbersome but I'm so glad I brought it this day :) The family and I decided to take a trip to the local farmers market and have a little picnic breakfast and look for the peacocks that live on the property. We found them!

Sarge returns!

I'm so lucky I have Mr. Pepper as a model. I'm pretty sure his mommy doesn't mind either :) This shoot turned out so well I'm so happy with the images that came out :) AND they are all unedited! Not to shabby if you ask me haha Thank you everyone for the kind feed back I have received and remember constructive criticism is always welcome as well. Enjoy the pics!

Natural light experiment

Photography being my new obsession I have been reading book after book and stalking blogs left and right in an effort to soak up as much information as I can. One of the things that interests me the most is the concept of using natural light to compose a shot. The idea is direct flash isn't flattering (which frankly it isnt ecspecially if your using the one mounted on your camera) and that natural light offers a softer, balanced appeal. Yesterday Paisley was playing on the floor and the light happened to shine in from the curtain long enough for me to grab my camera and click away. I think it turned out pretty good! The only other thing I want to add is that all of the pictures I have posted thus far have NOT been photo shopped at all. So the exposure is off and so is the color but bare with me this stuff isn't easy to learn!

Sargeant Pepper

I first met Mr. Pepper when his mom rescued him from a puppy mill. He was so malnourished but there was a sparkle in his eye that just spoke to his new mama! It wasn't long after he was rescued that it became clear that Mr. Pepper is different than the other dogs, he's deaf . In my opinion it only adds to his charm and I think his mom agrees! I love photographing this lil' guy and can't wait to do it some more!

His Goose is cooked . . . .

To begin with, I have four dogs. Well let me rephrase, I am owned by four dogs. Chief (an English Mastiff) Ginger (chihuahua) Sassy (Chihuahua) and last but not least Goose (golden retriever). I LOVE my dogs and couldnt dream of parting with them . . . . . most times. Goose is the youngest only three days younger than my daughter who is almost 7 months now. :) What posessed me to get a puppy after having a baby I'll never know! To make a long story short after getting our yard landscaped it was clear we had a problem. Goose must not like plants, drippers, hoses, lawn ornaments or decorative rock. How dare we put in his backyard. That was his yard and we ruined it. So he has decided it is his job, no his duty, to get rid of ALL of it. So it's mommys job to put him in time out and let him think about what he's done. This is Goose in jail. Although I really doubt he's thinking about what he's done. More like I can't wait till they bury those drippers again so I can dig them back up!
